A module can always be brought back with the USB connection and MuraLink. Nothing needs to be opened and no programmer is needed.

The module waits in update mode

The status LED blinks amber quickly and the module appears in MuraLink under Units in update mode instead of as a connected device. This happens after an interrupted update, when the installed firmware failed its check, or when the firmware did not come up three times in a row. Open the update bundle and install it; the module restarts with the new firmware.

The module does not react at all

  1. Switch the module off.
  2. Hold the encoder button and switch the module on. Release the button once the status LED blinks amber: the bootloader is in update mode.
  3. Install the update bundle from MuraLink.

If the module does not enter update mode this way, the fault is not in the firmware. Contact support with the module's serial number.

A PCB 1.3 module

The same applies from firmware 26.10.1 on. Do not use the old FirmwareUpdater and do not move DIP switch 3: see Configuration.
