TWS: everyday use

Switching on

Switch on both units. Each unit finds its remembered peer and reconnects, usually within a few seconds; Boot outcome then shows Reconnected. If a host was connected in the previous session, the connection to the host is normally restored automatically once the TWS link is established.

Power-up order does not matter. If one unit is switched on later, even several minutes later, the two units reconnect automatically within a few seconds. You do not need to restart the unit that was already on.

Secondary switched off during playback. If you switch the Secondary off and on again, it rejoins the Primary and resumes playback automatically.

Only one unit switched on. A unit whose peer remains switched off works on its own. After about 15 seconds its Boot outcome changes to PeerUnreachable, and MuraLink shows the "Remembered peer did not respond" banner. The unit keeps its pairing and does not search for a different peer. As soon as you switch on the other unit, the two units link up.

Host and a lone unit. If a paired unit is switched on alone, the connection to the host is not restored automatically. Connect from the host's Bluetooth settings instead; the connection then works normally. When the other unit is switched on later, it joins, and both units play.

Common tasks

In the Remembered devices section, click Disconnect. The TWS link is dropped and each unit works on its own, but the pairing is kept. To resume, click Reconnect. The link is restored within a few seconds, and TWS status changes to Connected or Streaming.

Swap the Primary and Secondary roles

  1. Connect MuraLink to the unit that is to become the Secondary. Set Fallback role to Secondary (click OK in the dialog), and then click Start new pairing and confirm.
  2. Connect MuraLink to the unit that is to become the Primary. Set Fallback role to Primary (click OK), and then click Start new pairing and confirm.
  3. Switch off both units. Switch on the new Secondary first, and the new Primary a few seconds later.
  4. Pair the host with the new Primary.

Changing only the Fallback role is not enough while the units remember each other: they reconnect to each other and ignore the Fallback role. Start new pairing clears the existing pairing so that the new roles take effect.

Pair a unit with a different unit

Set one unit of the new pair to Primary and the other to Secondary, and run Start new pairing on both units, as described in pairing two units. If the previous partner unit will still be used, also clear its pairing with Forget peer or Start new pairing, so that it does not keep trying to reconnect.

Use a unit as a standalone amplifier again

  1. In the Remembered devices section, click Forget peer and confirm.
  2. Set Fallback role to Standalone and click OK.
  3. If the other unit is also to be used on its own, repeat steps 1 and 2 on that unit.

At the next power-up the unit finds no remembered peer, follows the Standalone role, and TWS remains off.

Note

Clicking Disable under TWS capability also switches TWS off immediately, but only until the unit restarts. For a permanent change, follow the steps above.

Old hosts in the peer list

The Peer table also lists paired hosts. MuraLink cannot delete individual host pairings from a unit. To stop an old host from connecting, remove the unit from that host's Bluetooth settings. Forget peer removes only the TWS peer, never hosts.
