Glossary¶
JP150Jan PřibyslavskýThis page does not apply to the product or PCB revision chosen in the header.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Autosave | The firmware writes a changed setting to the settings memory a few seconds after the last change. SYS:NVM:EEPROM:PENDING? shows a pending write; MuraLink's footer says Saving... and Settings saved. See Settings and memory. |
| Board record, factory record | The product, PCB revision, serial number and production date written once into the module at provisioning. SYS:BOARD:RECORD? shows it; *IDN? reports its serial number. |
| Boot memory | The memory the DSP loads its program from at power-up: an I2C EEPROM on PCB 1.3, an SPI flash on PCB 1.4. |
| Boot outcome | In TWS, what the last start did with the remembered peer: NoPeer, Reconnected or PeerUnreachable (BT:TWS:BOOTOUTCOME?). |
| Bootloader | The module's own bootloader (from 26.10.1) that installs the update packages MuraLink sends and checks the firmware at every start. |
| BTL, PBTL | Bridge-tied load, the normal two-channel output of a TAS3251; parallel BTL, both outputs in parallel for one channel with double the current. |
| Default DSP program | The basic passthrough design the module ships with, written at the factory and carried in the update bundle for PCB 1.4. The starter project is its source. |
| DFU | The USB device class of the bootloader's update mode (16D0:15B7). MuraLink talks to it directly; no driver is needed. |
| E2Prom.Hex | SigmaStudio's self-boot export: the image that is written into the boot memory. |
| Enable mask | Which of the six inputs can be selected. |
| Encoder | The optional rotary control with push button on the ROTARY ENCODER connector: volume, input, wake, and the entry into update mode when held at power-up. |
| Fallback Role | In TWS, the role a unit takes at power-up when it remembers no peer: Standalone, Primary or Secondary. |
| Firmware version | yy.mm.r: year, month and a counter within the month, for example 26.10.1. +dev marks a development build. |
| Host | The Bluetooth audio source, such as a phone. |
| I2C guard, programmer detection | The firmware's detection of a SigmaStudio USBi on the DSP bus; while one is active the firmware stands down from the bus (SYS:I2C:GUARD?). |
| IPAT | The indirect parameter access table of the DSP program, through which the firmware and the hosts address DSP parameters independently of the program's compiled addresses. |
| Level meter | The six-LED bar fed by the DSP program's RMS meter, ahead of the volume control; the same reading drives the silence threshold. |
| Limited mode | MuraLink on a module in the safe state: a banner, polling reduced to the available commands, the firmware update still possible. |
| MuraLink | The Windows control application for the JP-series modules. |
| OTP | The one-time programmable memory of the microcontroller that holds the factory record. |
| Package variant | What SYS:FW:PACKAGE? reports about the installed firmware: RELEASE, SPECIAL (with a label) or DEVELOPMENT. Owners run release builds. |
| Peer | In TWS, the other unit of the pair. |
| Power level | One of NORMAL, PWRSTAGE_IDLE, PWRSTAGE_OFF, SLEEP, STANDBY. |
| Primary, Secondary | The TWS unit the host connects to, and the unit that receives the audio from it. |
| Rollback floor | The lowest security counter the bootloader still installs; it only rises, so an older release cannot be installed below it. |
| Safe state | The state a module starts in when its board record is missing or unsupported: outputs muted, reduced command set, updates possible. |
| SCPI | The ASCII command style of the control interface (SYS:INPUT?). |
| Security counter | A number in every update package; a package whose counter is below the module's rollback floor is refused. |
| Self boot | The DSP loading its program from the boot memory when it leaves reset. A stored setting on PCB 1.4 (DSP:SELFBOOT), DIP switch 1 on PCB 1.3. |
| SigmaStudio | Analog Devices' development environment for the ADAU1452; version 4.7 for the JP150. |
| Silence threshold | The level-meter value below which the automatic power-down counts silence (SYS:POWER:AUTO:THRESHOLD). |
| Starter project | The SigmaStudio project the module ships with, the base of every own design. |
| Trigger, 12 V trigger | The input of PCB 1.4 that switches the module between NORMAL and a power-down level from an external device or a push button. |
| TWS | True Wireless Stereo: two units playing one host's audio in sync. |
| Update bundle | The published file of a release, JPx_Update_<version>.zip, that MuraLink installs. |
| Update mode | The state in which the bootloader waits for an update over USB; status LED amber. |
| USBi | The Analog Devices USB programmer for SigmaStudio. |
| Wake on audio | Leaving a power-down level when the selected input carries a signal again, part of the automatic power-down. |
| Watchdog | The supervision of every firmware task; a module that stops responding restarts itself, and SYS:RESET:CAUSE? then answers IWDG. |
