Identification, a connectivity check and the reset. All three are served in the safe state too.
Commands¶
| Command | Function | Parameter | Answer | Since | Boards |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
*IDN? † |
Identification | – | <manufacturer>,<model>,<serial>,<firmware> |
26.6.2 | 1.3, 1.4 |
ping † |
Connectivity check | – | pong |
26.6.2 | 1.3, 1.4 |
*RST † |
Restart the module | – | Resetting device... |
26.6.2 | 1.3, 1.4 |
Since is the release the command appeared in; 26.6.2 is the oldest release documented here, so a command marked 26.6.2 may be older. †: also served in the safe state (see SYS:BOARD:TYPE?).
*IDN?¶
Four fields: manufacturer, model, the serial number of the factory record (N/A on a board
without one) and the short firmware version (yy.mm.r, with +dev on a development build).
Firmware before 26.10.1 sent a fixed text as the third field.
ping¶
The quickest way to tell a slow module from a dead link: a command the firmware does not know
draws no answer at all, while ping always answers.
*RST¶
Answers first, then writes the settings that still wait for their autosave (at most 1 s), and
resets at least 100 ms after the answer, so the answer also leaves over USB. A setting changed
right before *RST is kept. SYS:RESET:CAUSE? answers SOFTWARE after it.
Changes¶
- 26.6.2 (oldest release documented): 3 commands.
