System: inputs

JP150PCB 1.3PCB 1.4generatedJan PřibyslavskýThis page does not apply to the product or PCB revision chosen in the header.

The selected audio input and the enable mask that decides which inputs the volume encoder cycles through. Both are stored settings.

Commands

Command Function Parameter Answer Since Boards
SYS:INPUT? Selected input – SYS:INPUT:<source> 26.6.2 1.3, 1.4
SYS:INPUT Select an input <source> SYS:INPUT:<OK|ERR:DISABLED|ERR:PARAM> 26.6.2 1.3, 1.4
SYS:INPUT:ENABLE? Whether an input is enabled <source> SYS:INPUT:ENABLE:<source>:<0|1> 26.8.0 1.3, 1.4
SYS:INPUT:ENABLE Enable or disable an input <source>,<0|1> SYS:INPUT:ENABLE:<OK|ERR:LAST|ERR:PARAM> 26.8.0 1.3, 1.4
SYS:INPUT:ENABLE:LIST? The enabled inputs in one answer – SYS:INPUT:ENABLE:LIST:<source>[,<source>...] 26.8.0 1.3, 1.4

Since is the release the command appeared in; 26.6.2 is the oldest release documented here, so a command marked 26.6.2 may be older.

SYS:INPUT

Commands: SYS:INPUT?, SYS:INPUT

The setter switches only to an enabled source (SYS:INPUT:ENABLE) and answers OK; a disabled source is refused with ERR:DISABLED and the input stays as it was. ERR:PARAM is a word that is not a source; an argument that cannot be parsed at all is an SCPI error without an answer. The query reports the source the firmware last wrote to the DSP, which after a start or a wake is the stored selection. SYS:INPUT:NONE is a defensive answer for a state that the commands and the encoder cannot reach. The selected input is a stored setting (autosave after 2 s).

The encoder button cycles through the enabled inputs in the order USB, BT, SPDIF, I2S, SINE, WIFI. SYS:INPUT is a prefix of the SYS:INPUT:ENABLE commands, and the setter's answers share the prefix of the query's answer: a response matcher must not read them as a source.

Input sources

Value Meaning
BT Bluetooth
I2S The I2S input connector
SINE The DSP's built-in test tone
WIFI The Wi-Fi module
USB USB audio
SPDIF S/PDIF
SYS:INPUT?     ->  SYS:INPUT:BT
SYS:INPUT USB  ->  SYS:INPUT:OK
SYS:INPUT I2S  ->  SYS:INPUT:ERR:DISABLED

SYS:INPUT:ENABLE

Commands: SYS:INPUT:ENABLE?, SYS:INPUT:ENABLE

A disabled input is skipped by the encoder and refused by SYS:INPUT. The last enabled input cannot be disabled: the request answers ERR:LAST and nothing changes, so there is always a selectable source. Disabling the input that is selected switches the module to the next enabled source in the encoder's order before the answer is sent, so a host re-reads SYS:INPUT? after it. The mask is a stored setting (autosave after 1 s); a stored selection that is disabled at start is replaced by the next enabled source before the DSP is written.

Default: all inputs enabled.

SYS:INPUT:ENABLE? BT    ->  SYS:INPUT:ENABLE:BT:1
SYS:INPUT:ENABLE SINE,0 ->  SYS:INPUT:ENABLE:OK

SYS:INPUT:ENABLE:LIST?

Every enabled source in the order BT, I2S, SINE, WIFI, USB, SPDIF (not the encoder's order), never empty. A source absent from the list is disabled.

SYS:INPUT:ENABLE:LIST?  ->  SYS:INPUT:ENABLE:LIST:BT,I2S,WIFI,USB

Changes

  • 26.8.0: added SYS:INPUT:ENABLE?, SYS:INPUT:ENABLE, SYS:INPUT:ENABLE:LIST?.
  • 26.6.2 (oldest release documented): 2 commands.
